Trillium Award categories

Review the categories below and indicate the category in which you are nominating a property. Please select one award category per nomination.

Note: The Mayor's Award is chosen from all the nominations submitted in all categories. 

Civic Beautification Awards

Two awards will be presented per ward for properties that have made outstanding contributions, and given special thought and effort to a front-yard landscape that is environmentally sensitive and contributes to the beautification of our Garden City. 

Considerations: 

  • Design features, including originality and creative thought
  • Use of native trees and shrubs
  • Pollinator plants
  • Use of mulch or rain barrel
  • Implementing edible gardens into the landscape while still contributing to neighbourhood curb appeal
  • Special features, highlights, or extraordinary efforts

Green Leader Award

This award is given to an individual or community organization for a significant contribution to greening the community and inspiring others to do so.

Community's Choice Award

This award is chosen by you. The best nominations are put to the community for a vote to decide the winner.

Submit photos of your favourite front-yard gardens. Top photos will be chosen and released for voting at stcatharines.ca/TrilliumAwards.

The winning garden will have received the most votes.
