About the Honorary Street Naming Program

The Honorary Street Naming Program is a symbolic way to honor an individual, organization, or event that has made a positive impact on the City of St. Catharines, the Province of Ontario, and/or Canada, and that aligns with the City of St. Catharines’ corporate values.

Preference will be given to applications that honour an individual, organization, or event that holds local significance. The City will prioritize honorary names significant to Indigenous Peoples, Black communities, and equity-deserving groups, and give consideration to celebrating untold stories that are not currently represented in the City of St. Catharines’ public spaces.

Applications for the Honorary Street Naming Program will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
